Default please stop using ASAP incorrectly

Is it so hard? Seriously, why can't people communicate effectively and clearly. When every request, command, order, bs need is "ASAP!!" it kind of loses its effectiveness, huh...

Is it part of "How to Manage for Dummies" or something? "Just tell them ASAP by CLOB and your ROI and EOY estimates will be AOK!!" Conversely, don't tell me "when you get a chance" when you actually mean right away.

What is so [censored] hard about this?

There are only a few possible time units here people.

1. This very second, drop everything.

2. As soon as your done with your current task.

3. Sometime later today.

4. Tomorrow/X days in future

5. The [censored] future

They're all pretty descriptive. I'm sure we could hold an unnecessary meeting and come up with a whole bunch of cute abbreviations for them that'll make some office monkey feel like they accomplished something freakin fabulous.

If I get another "oh [censored] I need you to build this system ASAP as the 30,000 emails we sent out last night have gotten some responses" I'm going to SCKMBes...ASAP

quote from email: "Prior to starting on rtf i received some hits regarding my mass email so we need to fake the mgmt part asap"

People need to take a class in effective email titles.

There should be a test to be allowed to live. On it you should know that the saying is "I couldn't! give a crap less", that you tip at least 15%, and that fat chicks shouldnt wear spandex (or in their case, expandex).

ugh. nice post, I got one of those earlier today.

-Saying "I couldn't give a crap less" is preposterous.
-Tipping 15% for substandard service should be generosity, not a prerequisite for continued existence.

Um no, think about it. Saying I could give a crap less is preposterous, because it implies that you DO care about the subject, when that is opposite of the meaning of the true idiom.

15% is not generosity, it is understood. If the service is bad, 10%, if its good, the ceiling is the limit. Youve obviously never worked for tips.

Saying "I could give a crap less" is slightly more preposterous than saying "I couldn't give a crap less." "I couldn't care less" has the advantage of being both logical and unridiculous-sounding.

15%+ is understood for decent service. For substandard service, I'll pay what I want. I like to have fun with it. E.g., if a waitress takes too long to bring the check, I'll wait until the time it's taking has crossed over into "way too long," then I'll start knocking off 1% every 30 seconds. Perfomance incentives.

Hell no, tip-based jobs are for morons who don't realize how stingy people are.

This goes for forum post titles too. This post is titled perfectly. It tells you what the post is about. If you aren't interested, you can skip over it, etc.

Others that are titled like "WTF" "OMG" "Don't you hate it..." "What kind of..." "Question:", etc, are really annoying.
