Default Can it get any weaker?

2-5 NL
No real reads

I'm sitting in MP2 and it's folded to me and I see AA and raise to 15. Folded to the Button who raises to 30. Folded back to me, I call.

Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I check and fold to a 70 dollar bet from the button.

Weak? Super super weak?

I figure I could be up against AK, AA, KK, QQ, JJ, but I couldn't figure out a good line to really guage if I'm ahead and didn't really want to overcommit with an overpair on a very dangerous board.

Preflop action is horrible.

I would raise more preflop or limp. Given that you raised to 3x the big blind and then button min reraised you, you have to reraise a significant amount (at least the pot). If you made a 5x or 6x bb raise and he made a substantial reraise of that, then you can smooth call and hope to bust KK or QQ on a rag flop.

Not weak, just risk averse. Once he re-raises me, I'm not going to let him see a flop though -- at least with out putting in both of our stacks.

Can it get any weaker? Pre-flop, no. On the flop, no.

Raise more to open the action. Re-raise his raise. As played, you have no idea where you stand before the flop. Make him define his hand. You hold the goods! Get your money in there!

Check on the flop? Good lord, man...

Why, because he mini-raised you pre-flop on the button? His play signals a massively wide range of possible hands. He could have 44, JT, 98, anything.

Also -- and I really hope you already knew this -- you are tied or way ahead of 3 of the 5 hands that you put him on.
