Sweet looking! I just finished 3 coats of polyeurothane on my wood part and will be putting on the railing in about 2 days I think. Gonna break it in this Saturday

How did you build the rail? Table looks VERY nice. What materials did you use and where did you buy???

I bought all of my wood at Home Depot, fabric at Hancock Fabrics, and the little stuff (screws, adhesive spray, etc.) at Walmart.

The rail is 3.5" wide and 1/2" plywood. After glueing on the foam, I stapled the vinyl to the inside bottom of the rail. Placed the rail on the table and screwed it in from the bottom of the table. After it's secured, pull the outside edge of the vinyl around the table and staple it underneath the table. Presto. I followed Greg Sorenson's pics to get it right. It's a little daunting at first (I think you realize if you mess up the vinyl, you are buying a new piece). Once you get it done, it's pretty easy in hind-sight....just tedious.

Cmoses, I have been wanting to do the same thing. How squeezed are 10 players around the 60 in. table? Do you know of anybody making 2 halves form indiv. sheets and slightly larger diameter, like 66 in. Thanks for any advice / ino. SJ

I'm nearly finished with my table. Just need to add a velcro-attached fabric skirt that will hide the underside of the table.

As you can see, I added a few personal touches of my own to make my table stand out above the rest.

If anyone is interested in having a table like this built, please feel free to contact me via private message on this forum. Serious inquiries only.

Is that just one of those rope lights? That is money.

Do you get weird looks when you say "Hold on a minute, I need to plug in the table?"

Yes, standard rope lighting. I had to make special accomodations in building my arm rail to allow for a recessed area to install the rope light without interfering with the playing surface. The table sits in a dedicated spot in the basement, so it's always plugged in. I mounted a powerstrip on the bottom of the table, so I can actually switch the table on/off without unplugging it from the wall.
