poker rates (room rates) in vegas?

Anything like that in vegas like in AC and fooxwood?

Poker room rates vary from room to room, but the general rule is that to qualify for a poker rate you must book your room through the actual hotel (as opposed to expedia, hotwire, etc.)

I recommend calling the poker room where you are considering booking and asking them what the specific terms are.

Unlike AC and Foxwoods, there's other stuff to do in the area, so getting tied to a room to get the rate is a bad idea. Vegas hotel rates are low enough to skip the poker rate in favor of freedom.

I tend to disagree.

Bellagio is a sweet hotel, and w/o the poker room rate (I believe it's something like $150 weekdays/$200 weekend) I wouldn't be able to afford staying there. Plus you can divide the total hours up by everyone staying in the room (so if there are 2 people in the room, you need to play a total of 8 hours combined). So, you do need to play poker there, but you really aren't 'tied' to it.

Ditto for Mirage, but it's a little bit cheaper, and I think it's only a 6 hour requirement.

Call the hotels, and ask to be connected to the poker room. Then you can ask what their poker room rate is.

IMO, Bellagio is the best deal going...

Bellagio is 129(Su-Th) and 199 (Fri & Sat) 6 hour/night
Mirage is 89(Su-Th) 6hr/night and 129 (Fri & Sat) 8hr/night

These are really the only two poker rates in vegas really worth considering...I think Mandalay has one at around 189/night 6hr/night.
