Default Stupid .5/1 Question

I recently switched from NL SnGs to limit ring games, starting at .25/.50 and recently moving up to .50/1 and I have a question.

So far (small sample size) I have found that the .5/1 is ridiculously tighter than the .25/.50.

Is this

1) Just SSS
2) My imagination
3) Really the way it is

I've been playing primarily at Stars and UB.

You're right about Stars, bud.

.25/.50 Stars and .50/1 Stars are two totally different games.

.25/.50 is full of fish. .50/1 Stars is full of rocks. .50/1 can be beat, but not for nearly as many BB/100 as the .25/.50 can. 5 BB/100 at .25/.50 is realistic. I don't think you could squeeze more than 2 BB/100 out of the Stars .50/1 full.

Huh? I don't understand your question. 1/2 full on Stars is even tighter than .5/1.

Then if you're lucky enough to sustain 2BB at .50/1 at PS, does the BB/100 drop to 1BB at 1/2?

Just curious as to when it starts to move back up, 2/4 or 3/6 or higher? I would say there are plenty banking more than 2BB/100 at .50/1 is all.

ABC poker is usually good enough to beat everything up to 2/4 for a pretty good rate. You might not make as many BB/100, though, as the tables tighten up as you move up.

When I played PS I saw no real significance difference between .25/50 and .50/1. At 1/2 it did at least from my PT DB.

Log on to Stars right now and compare the avg flops seen for 5 .25/.50 tables with 5 .50/1 full tables. The average flops seen for .25/.50 is like 61%, while it's like 24% for .5/1.

Maybe my 2bb/100 upper limit was off. All I'm saying is that you will have a much higher BB/100 at the .25/.50.

There are more loose games at .25/.50 than .5/1 at PS, but there are still many loose beatable games at .5/1. I found quite a few of 40%+ .50/1 this weekend, even found some that were over 60%. PS seems to be loosening up a bit, there are a lot more players there than just a few months ago. I had to sit on a waiting list to get in those loose games, but it was well worth it.
