Re: Hank Aaron Being His Usual Racist Self
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The Astros just had their most successful season ever and he's criticizing their scouting department. Fantastic. [/ QUOTE ] I did find it surprising that they didnt have 1 black person on their roster. Am I the only one that didnt know this??? [/ QUOTE ] I hadn't heard it reported before this. It's definitely extraordinary. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe unusual, but extraordinary? I think there are like 3 black pitchers in the entire major leagues (Willis the best known.) So that wipes out almost half the roster right there. I'm a Braves fan, and I can only think of 2 black players they had on their roster this year. What's the average, 2-3 per team? |

Re: Hank Aaron Being His Usual Racist Self
Brian Jordan was the only African American, unless I'm missing somebody.

Re: Hank Aaron Being His Usual Racist Self
I think Hank is wrong on this one, but I wouldn't call him "racist."
I met Hank Aaron in the airport. I offered him a waffle fry. He declined, as his wife was buying him some frozen yogurt. |

Re: Hank Aaron Being His Usual Racist Self
If Larry Bird said one team didn't have a white guy, and that this was a serious problem and the scouting department needed to take a serious evaluation, it would be the main story on every news station.
Face it, blacks get to play the race card, but they never have to have it pulled on them. It's a fact. |

[/ QUOTE ] Didn't Larry Bird or some other prominent white NBA player say something along these lines at some point recently? I don't remember the exact quote and I'm not 100% sure it was Bird but it was something about how the NBA needs more white players so that white fans can identify with the league more easily. |
