Yeah - I missed that. Happens when you read too fast and there's no pretty suit icons. Edited my initial response.

I think your play here was fine.

Just be aware of the fact that many, many, many low limit players play any ace. So when your overcard is an ace, it is not always going to be a winner. For example, if MP has AT, you're drawing pretty thin. This is more applicable to a flop like 863. If you had A3, many players will play hands like A6 and A8 in any seat, which puts you in pretty rough shape. Just something to think about.

Nice hand all the way through.

Take any criticism you hear at a 2-4 live table with a grain of salt.

You caught the nut flush draw on the turn, you could have jammed it there too, you most likely had 14 outs to the river

There's no point, people who play 10-Xo and hit their 10 aren't folding it.

Also, is A3s strong enough to raise from the BB against 8 limpers?

Not as a normal play, but if you want to do it occasionally for deception purposes and mixing up your play that would be OK.

2-4 HE at the local Indian casino. Table is loose and passive, 10-handed. I have a decent read on most of the players.

I'm in the Big Blind with Ad 3d. 8 limpers to me

I find this hilarious. What is the read? Holy $hit these guys all suck and will limp with all sorts of crap.

Hand is played fine, don't listen to their chirping, one of them limped with T6o.

Routine, but notice how your opponents misunderstood your play. That's good for you.

At the table, my actual thought process on the flop was:

"5 outs -- just over 8:1 against. I'm getting 11:1. MP could have AT, but I have a backdoor flush draw, so I guess those just about cancel out. I'll call."

I guess that MP's calling standards make a huge difference on whether or not my "cancelling out" idea is actually correct.

Not at that table. I don't need to fool the dealer.

Some points - mostly covered already

1 - don't count the A as 3 outs - might only cost you more $ changes implied odds.

2 - once you see the turn, you have a clear call with the added flush draw. Without the flush draw (even with a 4 or 5 for a draw to a wheel) it is a clear fold.

3 - when they want to give you lessons (especially as you are stacking chips) listen attentively and tell them "thanks for the advice" or "I really got lucky on that one" or whatever they want to hear that will make them "right." It will make them much happier to lose their money to you than the other players at the table.
