I've been to coushatta once. Decent room. Highest game was 6-12. Tournament had good turnout. Total crapshoot, but it was low-stakes. No entry fee, $15 rebuys, $30 double add-on. Guaranteed $1000 and easily hit it with the rebuys. Coincidentally, I will be there next Tuesday for the tournament.

Coushatta isn't bad they get alot of Houston players out there in those games, I would say its average level of play overall. I don't recall seeing higher than 4-8 but there could have been, its been about 6 months since I went out there, if your looking for high limits and lots of action I doubt this place is for you. Never heard of the other joint. I do know that Harrahs Lake Charles supposedly just opened a room haven't had the chance to go check it out, it about 45 min. from Coushatta. As well Isle of Capri, right down the street from Harrahs, supposedly has a $200 buyin weekend NL tourney, but I only heard that secondhand so don't quote me on it.

There is a poker room at the Isle of Capri Casino at Lake Charles, Louisiana. It's the entire third floor of one of the boats. There are around 24 tables and most of them are active and filled on the weekends.

They spread 2-10 Stud and Hold 'Em. They will spread other games, but there isn't much of a demand for Omaha there. The HE games are 3/6/12, 10/20, and 20/40. There is no kill.

There is a jackpot drop of $1 at the 3/6/12 and 10/20. The rake is very high as it maxes out at $5. There are a lot of wild and wacky players. It seems most of the players are from Texas.

The room is very spacious. They allow smoking, but the ceilings are high enough that it's not that smokey at all. They give out free sandwiches and $7 comps after about six hours of play.

It's busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

They have a tournament every other weekend. I think that they may have one this weekend.

They have some really good dealers (Sam is fast and efficient) and some bad ones and some new ones. There are some characters there, but it seems more tame then when the poker room was crammed into the back of the second floor.

Me and my buds are going there this weekend. Whenever we go, we see the same faces there again and again.

Coushatta has a poker room as well. There are around 12 tables there. It's off in the back of this tent filled with slots. Good air circulation, but very noisy. "Wheel of Fortune.... *ding ding ding*

I think they spread the same games. And they have tournaments the weekends that Isle of Capri doesn't have them.

It's a bit out of the way (20 minutes away from Lake Charles) and there is absolutely nothing in the area.

Harrah's has supposedly opened up a poker room this last weekend. I heard that from some Harrah dealers at my blackjack table at Capri.

Have fun and best of luck.
