Default Isolated by a 2+2er: Hand #3

By this point, it's becoming an epic battle. Each of us have taken down a couple. I don't think a single one went to showdown besides Hand #1. I'm also starting to notice that his stats are something like 27/23 for this session, although the only person he's been 3-betting is me. Granted I'm on his right.

On to the hand:

Party Poker (7 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
5 folds, Hero raises, Bro 3-bets, Hero caps, Bro calls.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Bro calls.

Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Bro calls.

River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Bro bets, Hero...

You've obviously got him out of his element. But the only way you can raise here is if you can fold to a 3-bet.

he's calling you down with the A cuz he figures it's a chop.

when you checked the river he now puts you on KK QQ JJ TT, so he bets.

but you still have to pay off.

Is your experiment to see how many hands it takes for player to begin isolating you?

he started isolating me pretty damn quick. but yes, the point was to see how well i can handle it post-flop.

I think you played the hand fine, I get a sinking feeling when the River comes but check-calling is your only option here, you want to show your KK so he knows he sucked on you (might lead to less 3-betting and more respect).

I was in a similar position yesterday, getting 3-bet regularly by a player 2 to my left. Once I showed down a couple of big hands, the 3-bets dried up.

R.e.s.p.e.c.t.

It is easy for an aggressive/thinking player to see you as a LAG is you are stealing a lot or hitting a few big hands.
