Default Best strategy for this situation?

I was in an online NL MTT at Party, and had an unusual occurence happen. Six of the other players at the low-numbered table timed out and were posting and folding.

What's the best strategy for this situation?

I've been in this spot a few times. I basically treated it as a shorthanded table, opening up on starting hand requirements and such. Of course when the other active players fold, raise and steal the blinds. Not sure how ethical that is but if people join a tournament and don't bother to show up it's their own fault.
