Betting Structure question
In NL Hold'em do the minimum bets in each round following the pre-flop bet have to equal the big blind? I have searched and cant seem to find the answer. Thanks!

Re: Betting Structure question
correct.
all bets from the flop to the river must at least be equal to or greater than the big blind. (ie: if blinds are 2 and 4, a bet of 2 is invalid and must be made into a bet of 4 whether the player wants to or not. once a "bet" has been declared, the minimum that may be put out is the big blind, even if he/she changes their mind once they realize the bet must be 4) |

Re: Betting Structure question
I thought that the bet on the flop had to be equal to the small bet, and then all bets on the turn and river were equal to the big bet.
I play 0.25/0.50 NL on PokerRoom and this is how the betting structure is there. Min. bet on flop is 0.25, Min. bet on turn and river is 0.50. |

Re: Betting Structure question
You are confusing the the small/big blinds with with small/big bets (bb/BB)
on a 2 (bb)/4 (BB) table the small blind is 1 and big blind is 2. |

Re: Betting Structure question
yeah, i play pokerroom too (right now, in fact) and the small blind in the .25/.50 game is .10. the flop bet is .25, and .50 after that.

Re: Betting Structure question
Actually, that's how PokerRoom's games work in both limit and NL. To my knowledge PokerRoom is the only site that does that.

Re: Betting Structure question
pokerroom is the only place I've ever seen that also. The standard rule is that if it's a 0.10/0.25 NL game the SB is 0.10, the BB is 0.25 and minimum bet on any street is 0.25.

Re: Betting Structure question
You're thinking limit... in no limit, the minimum bet is always equal to the BB
