Could someone please advise which Vegas strip/downtown poker rooms still allow smoking? Thanks.

Re: smoking in vegas poker rooms
The Palms does, but that is neither downtown or on the strip. That is the only one that I can think of off hand. Most, if not, all of the Stations casinos just went non smoking as well as the Sahara.

Re: smoking in vegas poker rooms
None of these are on the strip or downtown, but they do allow smoking...
Palms, Sunset Station, Sam's Town, Boulder Station... There are very few poker rooms in town that still allow smoking at the table. Last year (around September) all of the Mandalay properties went non-smoking, followed by Sahara, Stardust, etc. |

Re: smoking in vegas poker rooms
Hi,
I'm not a smoker but I do play in a lot of card rooms....... The poster who said that the Stardust is non-smoking is wrong. The only smoking poker room on the Strip is the Stardust. The only smoking poker area downtown is the El Cortez. FWIW, The Sahara went N.S. about 3 weeks ago. Circus Circus went N.S. about two months ago and the Plaza went N.S. on December 5th. With those three now N.S. there are now only two places N.S. in all of Downtown or on the Strip (Stardust & El Cortez). There are a lot of smoking poker rooms way off Strip however. Most are way way off Strip, FWIW. As Photoc said, you might want to give the Palms a look. It's sort of a smoker's heaven. Best Wishes Howard |

I just called the Stardust poker room (and the Sahara) to double-check. Stardust DOES still allow smoking at the tables. Sahara went no smoking a few weeks ago. I obviously had some bunk information. Interesting point about the El Cortez poker room -- even the dealers smoke there. It's quite a place. |

Re: smoking in vegas poker rooms
I thought I read that the Luxor was still allowing smoking. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I will be in vegas in 2 weeks and was avoiding the Luxor because they allowed smoking. If they don't I want to go in and destroy some tourists in that room as well as Excalibur.

I play the Luxor once a week (was in there the day before yesterday) and it is a non-smoking room. Best of Luck Howard |

Re: smoking in vegas poker rooms
Excellent! I hear they do some tourist "poker training" class type things there during the afternoon and the lower limit games get REAL REAL fishy after that.
I know they came to Vegas to lose their money, and I want to make sure they don't leave without succeeding. |

Re: smoking in vegas poker rooms
The Luxor does not allow smoking in the poker "room," but they do allow it on the casino floor. Since the poker "room" is really just 9 tables separated from the casino by a railing, smoke may still bother you.

Re: smoking in vegas poker rooms
The Sahara is so poorly ventilated that it is about time that they did that. In fact, I specifically did not play there during non-tournies because it was like having your head in a chimney. Gross.
IMO, the Sahara tournies are even more attractive now that I will be able to breathe! |
