I dont like betting because where will it get us? He's never going to fold, if he calls its even worse than raising (smell a monster?), and if he raises us we just have to calldown till we're beat.

By check-raising we're putting the same money in, but taking control of the hand. Cheap showdown is very juicy.

Cheap showdown is very juicy, but getting 3-bet on the flop would be a very bad thing.

A bet would represent a K to people who don't have one, and they'd fold. If I got raised, sure I'd call down, but it only cost me 2 on the flop to find out that villain has a hand worth raising.

Check/raise it would cost me 3 for the same information. If villain had really had a hand, this would have been expensive. Since he didn't, it looks real good, but I don't think I'd play it this way.

Oi, flexing your poker muscles with a check-raise is more than just 'folding to one bet', its more like 'folding to your surely awesome hand that you must have'.

But yeah, strange play by villian. Im guessing a weaky with QQ?

I guess we're destined to butt heads on this one, but I think most (non 2+2'ers) people put value on money they've put in the pot and so folding after dropping money into the pot is much harder to do then folding before they've put any in.

Yeah, could be QQ or a SLA/P with JJ.

Heck, I think sometimes I'd fold my QQ if I bet it out and it gets raised after capping the flop when there's a K on the board, if I forget to count the money in the pot (which I do more than I care to admit).

This is an interesting hand. I think I end up betting this one down until I get raised and probably seeing a showdown if it ends up heads up.
I think you shouldn't have shown the result though. I think my advice would be different if I hadn't seen what happened.
