Default St. Louis Casinos

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best ring games in St. Louis casinos? How about regular tourneys? Thank you.

The President is a dump, but it's easily the softest game in town.

I reccomend either Harrahs or Ameristar in St Charles. ABout 15-20 min drive from downtown. Nice rooms, Harrah's has the comfiest chairs. You can find good games at both. The president is definitely a place to avoid.

I played at Harrah's in St. Charles for the first time about one month ago.

I think list was shortest for 3/6, so that's what I played. I played for about 2 hours, and left up only about 15BB's. I saw a LOT of limping, and cold calling raises with 24s, crap like that. The bad beat jackpot was around 230K at the time, but I don't think that was the only reason the play was so bad. If you only play ABC poker, you can do very well. Mix in some laggish behavior, you can do extremely well.

Good luck to you in the future!

I have played at President, Ameristar, and Harrah's. President is a real dump, but if you're in the city, it's the easiest to get to, and the games are pretty loose.

Ameristar may be the nicest place I have gone to outside of Vegas.

My problem with St. Louis poker rooms in general is the loss limits. I mostly play limit, and usually play 10-20. This game is generally nowhere to be found, from my understanding because the loss limits are set at (I think) 400 or 500 every 4 hours. So to have enough money to play anything higher than 5-10, you have to wait around a while. The only limit they have at President is 1-4-8-8, and I wanted higher steaks, so I went to Ameristar. I was forced to play the highest they had on a Saturday night, 5-10. I should have just stayed at President.

Ameristar almost always has at least one 20-40 on the weekends.

The loss limit is $500 every two hours, but it's by the clock (either even or odd hours, I don't recall), so if you time it right, you can get $1000 in about 5 minutes.
