Default WinMX problems (port forwarding maybe)

When I go to download certain songs (usually the really popular ones) I will click on a song and it will never find the host even though there are like 100 users sharing the file and it never starts the download...any sugguestions? I figure maybe it has something to do with my router, but some songs download fine.

Not sure what port WinMX operates on...but that could very likely be your problem. There's also a known issue with Windows XP SP2 that limits the number of connections. There's a million posts on this out there...shouldn't be hard to google.

If you're just trying to forward the port, figure out what port it is, go into the router's settings and forward it to your machine. Make sure you have a static IP address and you should be fine. This will be an instant fix if it's the problem.
