Default NL400 - misplayed trips

It was one of my first sessions at NL 400 at Party. Just sit down few hands ago. No read . Need comments.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

saw flop|saw showdown

CO ($385.87)
Button ($221.22)
Hero ($437.6)
BB ($387.7)
UTG ($87.2)
UTG+1 ($465.4)
UTG+2 ($78.6)
MP1 ($384)
MP2 ($337)
MP3 ($396)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $2.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $4, 3 folds, MP3 calls $4, 1 fold, Button calls $4, Hero (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($20) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG+1 bets $10, MP3 folds, Button folds, Hero calls $10, BB folds.

Turn: ($40) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $20, UTG+1 raises to $50, Hero calls $30.

River: ($140) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $130, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $270

What line of play was the best?No w I think may be fold to raise at turn or raise at flop.

I think that if you raise the flop and are called/reraised you can feel pretty good with a fold on the turn.

In spots like this I like to do one of 2 things:

1. Take a very aggressive line, planning to fold if someone plays back at you.

2. Take a very passive line, hoping to pick of bluffs and/or get to a cheap showdown while underrepresenting your hand.

The problem with something between these two extremes is that when you get played back at you are not sure whether or not he has the goods, since you have not clearly represented a big hand.

So, I might consider the following lines:

1. Checkraise the flop. If I get called, maybe I am done with it, maybe I fire again on the turn.

2. Check/call flop, check the turn. The idea is to check/call all the way down, but if on either the turn or river I make the read that he has me outkicked, I will fold.

Your line is an interesting idea, but I only like it if you feel the flop check/call, turn lead is a strong enough line that you can fold to a turn raise. You did not, so as such I don't like it.

Fold preflop.

[/ QUOTE ]

with your kicker, the only way you're getting action on this flop is if you're behind.

this demonstrates why folding preflop is the best move. you got about as good a flop as you could hope for with that hand and you're afraid to play it fast.

BTW, (OP) why do you think this hand is misplayed?? folding to the turn raise might be alright, but he raised so teeny and you have outs against all hands and big implied odds if he has aces full... even better, after you call the riv will often go checkcheck, YHIG.

I think I misplayed it because I need to fold at turn to raise or raise flop.Yes- this isn't the flop I'm looking for because if I get any action I'm beat.Much better is A72 where I can trap anyone with big Ace.NL 400 at party is still level where people fall in love to there AQ or AK at A high flop- and you can make a lot of mone if could hit two pair.Thank you for all comments. May be anyone can add something else?

You played it fine. You can't fold to a 30$ raise on the turn. He's going to check the river some of the time. As for folding pre-flop, you're the small blind. See the flop for 2 bucks and play post-flop poker.

I don't like seeing the flop with this trash in a multi-way pot. It seems to me the best you can expect is top pair, no kicker. I muck this trash.
