Default Flush Draw

What are the odds of catching a flush when starting with any two-suited cards pre-flop? I wasn’t sure weather to post this in the probably forum or this one, since it is a hold-em question.

Since it is a 37.1% chance for a board to flush (3 cards of a suit) it is 37.1/4 less the 2 cards that you have giving you a 6.4% chance of making your flush given 2 suited cards.

The math can be seen here: http://www.math.sfu.ca/~alspach/comp4/

According to Phil Gorden it is less than 1% (1 out of 121 hands):

It's less than 1% to flop a flush, but around 6% to make one by the river. Which is probably what Steve posted, though I didn't check out his link.

but that 6+% figure assumes you'll stay in the pot to catch
running cards of your suit if you flop a 3-flush. So most players will have flushes less than 6% of the time.
