Poker in Mesquite?
I've searched here and in other places and I have been unable to find any info on poker in Mesquite, NV. I've seen TV commercials saying somewhere, I think the Oasis, has a poker room, but I was wondering if anyone had been there and knew room size, limits spread, and whether they have any tournies.

Re: Poker in Mesquite?
Not an enormous room but nice. they will spread nearly any limit desired but always run 3/6 4/8 and some 1/2NL. there are daily NL tournies including the upcoming oasis poker championship the first week of september.

Re: Poker in Mesquite?
Go to http://www.oasisresort.com/ for the basic info on the oasis.
The oasis open poker tournament happens twice a year, I always go and it's a cool place to be, good tourneys, lots of poker including O-8, good people etc. Rooms $15 a night for players in those tournaments, http://www.oasisresort.com/index.php?PID=CASINO has a link to the poker room and oasis open info. The oasis open is run by Jan Fisher and Linda Johnson, so obviously it's run very well. I recommend the place when you want to get out of vegas for a few days. al |

Re: Poker in Mesquite?
Thanks for the responses. I can't make the Open, but does anyone know the structure of the daily tournies? Are they the typical low buy-in, quickly escalating blinds, bingo-fests?

Re: Poker in Mesquite?
Trust me on this one...the Eureka casino (located next to the Virgin River) is the best game in Mesquite. They spread 4-8. On my way home from Vegas (live in Colorado) I stopped for the night in Mesquite and turned $140 into $350. You get a lot of local kids from St. George Utah who think they can play....easy pickin's.
