What do you mean by 3/ and 5/30?

[/ QUOTE ]

Oops! meant 3/6 (the full kill game mentioned earlier) and 15/30. The O8 game was going that night also, as well as a 7stud hi/lo (I think)

That's a bummer. I hoped to play higher than 3/6, but I wasn't planning on playing as high as 15/30.

What about drinks, are they free at any level? THanks

[/ QUOTE ]

Nope. No free drinks to be had at any of the KC area casinos. No free drinks at any casino in Missouri as far as I know.

[/ QUOTE ]

Missouri liquor laws forbid all establishments (casinos, bars, restaurants) from serving free booze. Most casinos have free soft-drink dispensers close to the poker rooms, though.

Regarding hotel rooms... Priceline is your friend. The Chiefs are out of town, so you should be able to find something good.

The only time in my life I ever won a bad beat jackpot was at the Ameristar so it holds a fondness in my heart. The 15/30 is as soft as the LL games except for the initial $500 chip purchase limitation. It is a bit if a handicap not being able to immediately rebuy if you go cold early in your session.

Since I live in Kansas City, here is what I would do. Stay at the American Inn on Armour Rd/210 highway. That is the road you will take to get to Harrahs/Ameristar. The rates should be around $50 a night. Should only be about a 5 minute drive to Harrahs, 10 minutes to Ameristar.

Ameristar offers a 3/6 full kill game, and other higher limit games. Harrahs sometimes offers a 4/8 with a kill on the weekend. In my experience Ameristar has better overall players, but game selection is the key.

Very rarely have I sat at a 3/6 game at Harrahs and have played against 3 players who were even decent. Harrahs offers the easiest game you could imagine.
