Mason is the publisher and owner of 2+2, not David. Of course, David was also well aware of Dan's abilities, and also would've tried to get him to write a book if 2+2 were his company.

Anyone think it is funny that Matt Sklanski editted the OP several days later so that David's last name was spelled correctly?
