Ok. I have backed out the change. However the problem we're
trying to fix is the fact that the left column has become cluttered and we were trying to simplify things, not make it more difficult.

I agree that clicking on the name itself should have expanded the category and that was going to come when I had a chance to fix it, but the other comments have convinced me that we need to do something altogether different.

We add new forums with reasonable frequency and the list is just going to get longer and longer. If anyone has ideas, I'd love to hear from you directly.

leave anything with poker the way it is now. also leave the zoo and OOT alone also lol.. but anything else that are used the least you can do whatever you want. and OOT and the ZOO should be right after the POKER stuff.

LOL. Nice.

When they made the change I instantly updated my bookmark to be the main forum page so I don't have to use the silly bar. I imagine many others will also do this.

This is bad for 2+2 because we never see the front page anymore, and because I expect everyone hitting the forum root page is more of a hit than us hitting the 2+2 main page.

Just collapse the forums with less than ~25 posts/day ...less cluttered but still easily useable my mran like me

I'm notoriously pissy about long scrolls, and I don't think the status quo is even particularly close to too long. If you really feel the need to collapse, I'd still leave the poker forums expanded, and collapse General Gambling and Other Crap.

Why don't you hire a information/web designer to look into it?
Actually the whole site looks like it was made in the beginning of Internet. This quality content deserves a better and more structured package.

Some constructive critisim:
Use a consistent font for text/headlines etc, as it is now there are several different fonts and fontsizes which makes reading much more difficult. This could be implemented with a stylsheet. Horror example is the orderform which is practically unreadable.

Pictures (even large) are rescaled to the point that they look plain ugly. I can understand that bandwidth can be a problem but there is no need to make them this poor.

Don't use different colors for links!

Advertisments in the navigation!?! really annoying

Forum headlines (now in black) in left menus could atleast be bolded to stand out more.

It has to be about as wide as it is to support a full sized
ad.
