Of course bet it. Yesterday I had 9923, flop cames AK9. I bet the pot $12, guy in middle position raise the pot. If he has AK fair play to him, but he will go broke, I folded.

This flop did not "hit" me. I am not going to get excited. Holding the Ah does make things somewhat interesting.

I would smooth call and consider pot-betting the turn if it is a heart or I hit my boat. I am NOT, on average, looking at the best hand here. Even if my top 2 is good, I am at best a small favorite. In other words, this hand is either a lilttle ahead or WAY behind. In big bet poker, this is a terrible time to be investing significant chips.

If the turn comes a brick and everybody checks, then I might decide to get aggressive, but I want to see a favorable turn card before I even consider taking aggression.

When you are faced with a re-raise, I think folding is a 100% no-brainer. Any hand, even KJT with a flush draw has you in deep trouble, and to be honest, I think you are most likely facing a set.

I call because I think I'm ahead, but even if I am, I am not a prohibitive favorite against the hands I put him on.

You even saw this yourself. IF you are ahead, it is not by much. Even if you are only against a set 1 in 4 times, the call is BAD. And as I said, I think a set is more likely than any other holding, though that does depend a bit upon the style of this particular opponent.

After the J comes on the turn, I really don't much care what he has. I know he either made a straight or had me beat. I am folding

Jim

Raise preflop to limit the field. With so many players, top two pair will be good less often. Two ways to play it postflop: (1) Raise the full pot on the flop, fold to a reraise or (2) Call the flop, raise on a safe-looking turn card. With two hearts out, I would tend to call the flop 70% of the time, raise 30% and fold the rest of the time.

Did you know that 120% of people who quote percentages are occasionally incorrect?
