Default Moving..

I'm moving back to the Detroit area for 2 or 3 months and wondering what hoops I'll need to jump through to verify to the poker sites and sports books that it's really me.

Does anyone use hotmail with the NT/poker sites?

I've never had to send any documentation before, is this common after a change of address? what all will they want? I wont be there long so I don't plan on changing my DL, but I'll do what I have to do.

I'm open to any suggestions to ease the process.

thanks

Just a thought, but tell them ahead of time and suggest that they mail a form to your current address for signature and verification of your new address... even offer to have it notarized. Perhaps many sites already have a standard form. Nevertheless, be proactive, not reactive.

Don't you primarily use Neteller anyway (I don't know anything about sportsbooks)? If so, you should only need to straighten things out with your bank (give them a forwarding address), if you plan to continue doing business with them.

If you're concerned about redeeming Party Points and whatnot for merchandise, just don't do it for the next few months.

I use neteller for deposits/withdrawals and my Stars account has an address that is over a year old with no problems. Id say just clear it up with neteller and dont worry about the sites.

I moved recently and changed my address with Party, and Neteller. Neither one would accept an address change without an area code which matched the address. I didn't change my area code on my cell phone so they wouldn't take it as a primary phone.

Once I got a local phone number I simply entered the change in Neteller and everything was fine.

Party required a faxed utility bill. They let me play under the old address though. Once I got a utility bill I faxed it and they made the change within 24 hours.

This doesn't really address your questions, but I'll take the opportunity to warn others. If you move, especially if you move to another country, clear it with Neteller in advance. I didn't, and soon after the first time I used Netteller in the new country my account was frozen. It took some convincing before it was released.

Neteller is #1 of course.

But why not tell the sites too? What harm is that. Some sites on occasion will mail you offers, etc. Also, if you do win something that requires address verification (like a WSOP package) you will have problems.

All sites should be able to help you change it. This is not an uncommon request.

Worst case scenerio:

You cashout of a site.

For some reason the site request verification of who you are. You cant prove it anymore.

Now what?

If he was moving for more than 2-3 months I would suggest he change everything or if he plans on withdrawing like $10,000 or something maybe but if he's just using it for occassional withdrawals deposits then it shouldnt be a problem for 2-3 months
