Default Why it is probably all legit !!

On party the average number of players through 24 hours is around 12.000. (7000 in daytime in europe and 25.000+ during us peaktime)

lets assume oarty has half of those clients rest are from empire and other associates.

6000 clients lets assume 4000 (at least) play real money tables.

That is at lest 400 tables (assuming everyone plays full tables)

400 tables with one hand pr. minute (the play more but some is tournaments etc)

I think it is safe to assume that average rake is 0,5 or more usd pr, hand.

This means that Party is making at least usd 200 pr minute 12.000 usd pr. hour 288.000 usd pr. day.

Why on earth would they feel any need to cheat ??? And risk getting closed down by gaming authorities

first - in general i agree with you and have made similar
posts in the past (as have others).

second - those who suspect the deal might be rigged would argue that they might be super-greedy and are simply inclined to go after as much as quickly as possible.

third - what gaming authorities would close them down?? these are not US corporations...so U.S. gaming-law does not apply in the least. what i'm basically saying is that they could conceiveably do whatever they want and nobody really has the power to shut them down.
someone may be able to prove me wrong on this...i'm just arguing against the commonly held notion that some sort of gaming-commission is overseeing them and can shut them down which really isn't true.

even the US government is mostly powerless. the legislation that is pending would make it illegal for US credit-card companies to allow transactions to internet-casinos (or neteller) thereby making it far more inconvenient for the 'casual' gambler to play.
the US govt is taking this approach because there is very little (if anything) that they can do to shut them down.

The only thing they would have to worry about in getting caught cheating is their reputation. If they get exposed as cheating and everyone finds out about it, they'll simply lose their business because nobody will play there anymore. We are the regulation. It's in their interest to do everything they can to make sure we feel we're getting a fair game.

No, actually they were losing money. Which is kind of the point. They were hiding their losses in subsidies until the eventually completely collapsed.

Were they losing money or were profits down? I cant totally remember it. Many places think because profits ar down they're 'losing' money. Which, obviously, isnt true.

But ok then.

How about many of the old casinos in vegas who were skimming?

Martha Stewart?

There are many examples of places making lots of money who cheat to get more. And historically, it's been well documented to be rampant in gambling ventures. Greed breeds.

Im not saying this is happening at any site, btw, just that it is possible. Even more-so with no regulation.

Right now, no one can definitively prove legitimacy of any site.

Play at your own risk. I do.

They were losing money and hiding it.

I do agree with you point though. Greed is out there and if they think they can get away with it, there is little threat to them for trying.

They did that to avoid taxes. Didn't have anything to do with the integrity of the games.

Martha Stewart?

She was the head of a public corporation, so the wealth of that company was her's only by the number of shares she owned and her salary. Her insider trading was so she could enrich herself personally for several hundred thousand (which was still very stupid).

Using this "greed" logic, why does PartyPoker even bother to invest in servers and networks and computer technology at all? Couldn't they just go and hold up a bank with a bunch of guns?

In fact, why play poker? Couldn't I just bust into a game with a shotgun and take all the money?
