Default an unexpected river decision

great loose 20/40 at brantford

4 limpers to me on the button, I limp 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], sb completes bb checks. 7 to flop

J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB maniac bets out, UTG calls, 1 other limper calls, I call.

J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [ 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ]

SB checks, UTG now bets, limper folds, I call, SB folds.

J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [ 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ]

UTG checks, I bet, UTG check-raises, I call.

Comments?

I haven't played alot with UTG but as far as I can tell he's one of the few who aren't a total live one at the table. He would only have a read on me as being tight thus far.

Set of deuces seems most likely, but I definitely pay him off, given his image of you.

And I fold preflop, even with the 4 limpers.

I think your line is fine. I'd also consider raising the turn, but it's close.

I'm having a real problem placing UTG on a hand. Would he really limp 22 UTG, given that you claim he's not a total boob? There might be 3 ways to hold the deuces, but I think the case 6s are more likely. But I still can't fold two pair here.

That's a tough hand, and without any reads on him you have to pay it off.

I think it's a set of deuces or he's making a play at the pot with a hand like9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

If it is a loose game he could definately be limping 22 UTG, if the game is loose enough I'd be doing it too.

Agreed. I forgot the "great loose" description of the game.
