Representing trips against a TAG Party 15-30
Villain in the hand is TAG 18/10/1.8 plays good postflop.
Villain opens in the Hijack, CO and button fold, Sb folds, I smooth call the raise with red nines. Flop T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check, villain bets, I checkraise, villain three bets (this is most definitely not a Ten now.) I decide to call. Turn K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check , villain bets. Your move? |

I dont think you played any of the streets optimally i.e. the standard way.

I'm a bit puzzled as to why you wouldn't just 3-bet PF and lead the flop.

If I were Villain, I wouldn't think a flop c/r is supposed to represent trips.

If the raiser will autobet the flop calling and check-raising is always better than 3-betting and leading, no matter what you hold. You lose less when the flop is bad, while remaining much more difficult to read.
Good luck. Eric |

If I were Villain, I wouldn't think a flop c/r is supposed to represent trips. [/ QUOTE ] Or couldn't it mean on a different level, "I don't have trips but I really do have trips?" I forgot to post my turn action where I check raised him after the three bet my c/r on the flop. That was more representative I suppose, Well, I could have flopped the underfull and fastplayed as well knowing I would get action on that board by almost any PP. Yeah the flop checkraise signifies a bit of weakness per se, or more of a feeler. The leadout after smoothcalling the PF raise would just be gay. The flop 3 bet by villain in position could be quite a few hands in reality. |
