I'm preparing myself to be underwhelmed. It's just very hard for me to get very excited at the prospect of a 2/4 game. I most likely won't be there for a while, unless my wifey strikes up a girls' night this weekend and I've got some time to kill, which is not highly likely.

Hey PdPG,
Do you play up in Black Hawk at all? If so you know that all that's available is 2/5 spread and 5/5. The Gilpin will have 1/2, 2/4 and 1/2 5-5 (same as the usual 5/5 game but without raping the blinds), plus 7 stud and Omaha.

Plus, there will be at least 6 different tournaments every day.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Yeah, I play up there on occasion. I think I'd rather play 2-5 than 2/4. At least in the 2-5 game you can make it $7 before the flop. Whooptie doo when you raise $2 to make it $4 to see the flop - that's an auto-call for EVERYONE there. I appreciate what they're trying to do, but there's just not much you can do with a $5 cap on betting.

Somehow I don't think this is what they really wanted to say:

"Here, players will enjoy 6,000 square feet dedicated to poker along with:

Frequent bad beats"

Well the Gilpin definitely has the nicest poker room in Blackhawk. I especially enjoyed the non-smoking half of the room, along with the Newcastle (my favorite beer). The 1-2-5-5 was a great game. A lot of loosies. Juanez, what is your name? I'm sure you dealt to me.
