Re: This felt wrong, Middle pair.
I 3 bet the flop as it gives you a much better sense of where you are. If you get smooth called you can bet again on the turn. Easy fold if raised. If you get capped i think check/fold the turn is best bet.

Re: This felt wrong, Middle pair.
Once raised on the flop I would tend to take a check call bet fold line.

Re: This felt wrong, Middle pair.
I like your line best against an unknown. Some players go absolutely haywire with any cards on a board like this so I want to see a showdown--throwing in more raises might put this in jeopardy.

Re: This felt wrong, Middle pair.
Perfectly fine. No need to do anything fancy for more "info" the only info you need is that you've got a hand that's worthy of showdown and there are a lot of people that will continue betting worse hands or bluffs with great frequency.

I wouldn't have raised pre-Flop...but I do think your post-Flop play was good.

Re: This felt wrong, Middle pair.
Just call down, you'll be ahead most times because a king will usually wait for the turn/river.
He likely has a J or a flush draw, raising does nothing except cost you bets (he folds a J and unimproved flushdraw instead of bluffing the river). |

Re: This felt wrong, Middle pair.
Thanks for clearing that up. I suppose the Pre-flop raise was a bit bad since the guy was generally loose and I had a small chance of buying the button, Was that the reason you thought a Pre-flop raise was not the best idea, King Yao?

Re: This felt wrong, Middle pair.
Are there any cards that would make you fold the turn/river after chosing to call down?
Say the Ah falls and adds both and overcard and completes the flush, does it change your plan any? |
