Default what does bb mean

Fairly new to this site and I came across terms like 300 x bb when reffering to size of bank roll one neads to play certain limits. I thought it probably meant big blind but then on the way to the store I thought well it could mean big bet. When I got home I did a search and of abbreviations and poker terms and it says it could mean either depending on context.

Got tired of searching so figured I would just post about it.

It means big bet in this context (bankroll size).

Usually when speaking of money it means big bet. It's used for big blind more often when referring to the action in a game ("I raised on the button, sb folded, bb called").

I've always wondered what people consider a "big bet" when looking at their "BB/hour" statistics....

Just to further clarify...for any given level of a limit game, a BB is just the betting amount on the last 2 rounds, i.e. at a $3/$6 table, a BB is $6.

Funny, all this time I thought it meant big butts...Then I figured everyone at these forums were pigs, and they were slapping 2.5 big butts/100 opportunities.

Geez, that's embarassing.
