So if we have the equivalent of March Madness for football does that mean everyone will stop caring about the regular season, just like they do with basketball?

Problem being is that USC is at #1 by virue of inertia, rather than merit, imo. I think that Auburn may lose in the SEC title game eliminating any problems, though.
