Yesterday I bought a 4 pack of Samichlaus beer. The label touts it as
perhaps the rarest beer in the world". It's only brewed once a year on Dec. 6th and then aged for 10 months blah blah blah.
Long story short, a single bottle bought at a normal liquor store costs around 5 bucks. Anyone ever try this brew?

I buy shimae and it is $8 a bottle. It is worth every penny and I'm a stingy bastard. I'm not sure why it's expensive though.

first of all it's Chimay [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] ...and I was considering getting it. Second of all it isn't hype. This stuff is damn good. 14% alcohol and has a nice honey taste, kind of like what I imagine what meade would taste like if I lived in the 1500's. Also, it says you can 'age' this beer and it just gets better.

chimay is like 22 oz but can cost up to 12-14 bucks depending on the color.
