always unsure with bottom 2
2/4 NL ----- my first hand i post in LP ($200)
im dealt 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 players in the hand, the blinds and the button flop comes K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] sb($150) leads out with 20 bb calls (400+)..... button has everyone covered .... whats the correct play on the flop? with bottom 2 and flush draw out there?? ive tried to discuss this with many players, all opinions range from proceeding VERY carefully .... to even risking your stack ..... thanks |

Re: always unsure with bottom 2
Not sure what you're doing in this game with only 50BBs... but because that's all you have, there are two lines I would consider.
1) Putting in a big raise on the flop, pushing a non-K non-spade turn. 2) Smooth calling on the flop, pushing a non-K non-spade turn Where this gets tricky is when any card above 9 comes off, I would proceed with extreme caution, hopefully the button will fold on the flop and you can use pot control in position, in this case. Typically, I would put in the flop raise to chase out the riff-raff, but I (almost) always fastplay everything. |

Re: always unsure with bottom 2
BTW.. I like a raise on this particular flop more because it is unlikely that you are up against another two pair or a set, since K9 and K7 are not horribly common limping hands, KK would have been raised, 99 and 77 have only 1 combo each, so I'm pretty confident you have the best hand at this point.
