Default just some whining i have to get off my chest

not sure whether this is the appropriate forum, but what the hell... anyway, i was in vegas for a few days last week and i visited about 10-12 cardrooms ... my conclusion is that the recent poker on tv fad has really killed poker... and i can't really take it any more without saying something... how can it be that i can find a stud/8 game at the boats here easier than i can in vegas? how come every card room is approx. 85 tables of holdem and 1 table of omaha and 1 table of 1-5 stud? i'm sick of this [censored], especially all the tools playing low-limit hold'em wearing sunglasses thinking they're at the final table of the WSOP... it makes me want to yak

I guess if that's not really a fact, but a theory, then this is the right forum.

Yes. As Yogi would say, "Nobody ever goes there any more, it is always too crowded".

Hey, my local riverboat offers 20x odds on craps. On the Vegas Strip the norm is 2x-4x-5x odds.

I can get good double deck games here, In Vegas, blackjack that pays 6:5 games with a house edge worse than an eight deck shoe are popping up all over.

SO - If you don't want to shoot the fish in the barrel at hold em, I would stay home where they have the game you want to play.

I know it won't happen but I think it would be better to change the main event to a mix of different games over the different days. Start with Stud, move to Omaha, finish with NLHE. Different types of games need to be seen on television.

At least change the main event to Pot-Limit. Read some of Daniel Negreanu's excellent words about this over on Full Contact Poker.

Have you tried to watch stud or omaha on television? Some games are made for playing...

You left out the part about putting their good luck charm on their cards and staring at the board, as if deciding whether to move all in. Instead of calling an unraised $2 flop.
