I don\'t know how to play this
General question:
When you hit top pair, but flop shows [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], for instance, and you dont hold a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and are first to act, what's the line: a) Heads-up? b) Against 2+ opponents? I struggle with this mostly against 2+ opponents, if I bet to shutout a four flush there might be a made flush already and my bet screams "I have no flush"...if check then I give the free card and get no value from my top pair. --r |

Re: I don\'t know how to play this
depends on situation, but i'd tend to just check/fold top pair, cause top pair isn't a strong hand, at least in multi-way pot
but was the pot raised pf? how many callers, limpers, raisers, etc? in general i don't think it's worth the risk |

Re: I don\'t know how to play this
a family pot I am gone for sure, no brainer.
When it's HU or 2, limpers or not, math shows the flush isn't too likely to get scared off a bet...I just wince everytime. When you say it depends on the situation, take HU for example, what situations do you check, what situations do you bet? Is your bet size affected vs a rainbow? Maybe 1/2 instead of 2/3 - 1? |

Re: I don\'t know how to play this
Depending on your kicker and position, I lead out both times, and shut down from there.
