Default Chip Collecting

I was thinking of starting a chip collection.

Has anyone done business with a reliable on-line chip collectors/dealer and if so can you hook me up with them?

Regards
Jim

Are you looking for rare chips mainly, or are you just trying to get chips from as many casinos/eras as possible? If it is the latter, you may want to focus on a single denomination of chips.

I remember this guy we used to host a site for, he was cool and into collecting chips. "The Chip Man", he should be able to get you started: http://www.chipman.com/ check out his events tab.

I'm not sure. I think I am more interested in vintage chips but I am keeping an open mind until I see what is out there and what is involved. If the older chips are more expensive than I am comfortable with I may switch my focus. I will keep the denomination issue in mind, thanks.

Very interesting. I see that there are several clubs/collectors listed in my area. This was useful thanks!

A good friend of mine sells chips on ebay.

You can check out his site at

http://www.scottro.com

Click on the ebay link on his site to see what he is selling. He's very reliable and sells chips pretty much on a weekly basis so if there is something you don't see this week he's got more the week after (and after).

Dice 702.com Has TONS of stuff you'd never even think to look for.

Gamblers General Store.com has price guides and so forth.

Check out The Chip Board . You will learn a ton, and can figure out who to buy from. They even have FAQ's for beginners.

BTW, I am trying to collect chips from defunct New York and Long Island poker clubs. If anyone has any they are willing to part with, send me a PM. I would particularly love to find one from the Mayfair, but I am also interested in the more recent clubs. Thanks.
