Default Canadian Poker Players

I am in the midst of doing a study on Poker in Canada and I am running into brick walls when I ask online poker sites how many of their players are Canadian.

I cannot even begin to think about where I can find this info. Could someone please either direct me to a location or post it.

Thanks in advance

Well player info is supposed to be confidential so I doubt the info is available. Maybe some rooms might provide the info in aggregate form but I doubt it.
If it will help I will guess that 75,000 Canadians have played a money game online in the last year. Feel free to cite me

I'm from Canada and almost everyone i know (my age 21-25) either plays now or has tried in the past. Why are you so interested in finding out?

It very well may be, but poker is addictive. Whether the sample is bias or not is not the issue. The issue is for what purpose he needs this info.

Whilst it is not helpful today, when the stars world cup comes around, you could compare the number of runners in the qualifier for each nation and make an estimate from that.

I've tried to find last year's results but cannot find the actual number of runners, just the winners.

Some digging around on Stars reveals some qualifiers for last years world cup.

Tourney 483190, 354 players - Canada
Tourney 483189, 25 players - Brazil

You may wish to send for some other tourney numbers in this region to get further sample size.

Default Why I was interested.

I am putting an evening poker course on at a College here in Canada, I just thought that the info may be interesting.
