Default About shorthanded....

I think I've heard that one of the Malmuth essay series has a special section on how to adjust your play to shorthandedness (for lack of a better word). I've found that I do well (usually - I have my fits of retarded plays) at a full table, but my results fall off quickly when down to roughly 5 or less.

Is there a book that specifically deals with this dilemma that anyone would recommend? Cash game oriented not tournament.

And no... the shorthanded section in HOH2 doesn't necessarily apply to cash games. At least I didn't feel that it did. Great insight for tourneys though

Gary Carson has a fairly large section on short-handed, as does King Yao's new book. Inside the Poker Mind also has a few things to say on the "shorthandedness" subject.

I like her shorthanded section, but it is too short! Only 4 pages on shorthanded play, and 2 pages on heads-up.

I think the Heads-up & Shorthanded forum on 2+2 is by far the best source of information on shorthanded games anywhere. This includes any book, any written material. But you need to be able to weed through some of the posts, and really think for yourself. You can't blindly trust any posts or any series of posts. But then again, you shouldn't blindly trust any book either (no matter who the writer is), you need to think things through for yourself too.

So, if you are a hard working, thinking player, the HUSH forum is the place for you.
