Regardless of EV, some people only want to dedicate a limited amount of time/money to winning a seat. Given this, a satellie is a very viable option.

Agreed. I made the final table (and missed by 5 spots) for $10. It was a longshot. I took it. Seemed like a reasonable gamble.

I mean, you ARE going to the WSOP, all expenses paid.

Jus' sayin'.

[/ QUOTE ]
What is that supposed to mean?

Suppose you're playing cash games, and the cardroom's web site states that the maximum rake per pot is $4. Then you win a huge pot, and you notice that $6 rake was deducted from it. If you posted a complaint about that, would it be reasonable for me to reply, "well you DID receive that big pot, jus' sayin'"?

Party also had unfriendly practices relating to winners of the Crown Casino satellites:

Last year, you were allowed to keep the cash if you made you own hotel accomidations. Not sure about this year.

If that is the case I would be ecstatic; I asked Party if I could do this and am waiting for a response (though I am not holding my breath).

How do you know they allowed this last year, did you win their package last year?

Does anyone think they'll be responsive at all to these concerns?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, it's Party.

Brilliant.

This is what I would call a luxury crisis. You may in need of a little perspective.

I think it means that Party is delivering what was promised.
Your example is totally off the mark.

He was promised, and is getting:
1. Entry into the WSOP worth $10,000
Yup
2. $1,500 spending money
Yup
3. Luxury Hotel for 10 nights
Yup

Unless you claim the MGM is not a "luxury hotel". I guess it is open to debate.
The OP signed up under the above conditions. Party is delivering them. Now he is itching.
Of the 10 nights, he has gotten one off for $200 and can knock another 4 off and get $800. Most "prizes" don't give you that sort of option. You got 10 days, use them or loose them.
So at debate is a 5 day stay at the MGM, including a weekend, at $200 a night, taxes included. You might want to check the MGM websight and see what they are charging for that Fri and Sat. Big whoop. Massive overcharge, right. Out of a $13,500 prize package.

My example was spot-on, because Party's qualifier was billed as "$300+28". It now turns out that Party is, in effect, raking more than $28 from the prize pool.
