Re: Continued AK hand
I bet 175, and if he raises I shove. If called I just open shove the turn.

Re: Continued AK hand
I bet 150.
If he raises, I'll re-raise all in. If he calls the flop, one way or another all my chips get in on the turn. |

Re: Continued AK hand
Do you change how you play if the flop is rainbow rather than two tone?
Here's what I'm thinking. We didn't do a magnificent job protecting our hand preflop. Are we getting paid off enough (this is a $33) by weaker aces to make this line valuable? |

I'm not scared of the flush either... I'd like to get all my money in on this flop. If it's rainbow I'm going to raise half-2/3rds of the pot. If he calls I bet another half pot on pretty much any turn... I REALLY want my money in with this hand and going to try to extract the most possible. You'll get plaid off plenty by weaker aces. |

[/ QUOTE ] a weaker ace is giving you his whole stack 90+% of the time on this flop in this situation. bet the flop. you're going to get action from flush draws, sets, two pairses and all aces. if you know that the guy could think "hey that's a weak bet, i'll push even more of the time" i bet a little less than i bet otherwise. you're not likely to get him to put all his chips in with less than an ace on the flop. if i know the guy doesn't checkraise, i check behind on the flop to induce a bluff on the turn. you should be comfortable going to the felt with your hand heads up in this spot 100% of the time. c |

Re: Continued AK hand
What are you thinking of as an alternative? You have about 600 back and theres over 200 in the middle. The pot is already plenty valuable to us, so I don't like letting someone catch a 2nd pair for free.
This is an interesting one for me though. It seems like lately every time I get AK early on, the flop is ATx, and I lose my stack to TT. |

Re: Continued AK hand
I agree with betting 175 on the flop and pushing to a raise, and on the turn there isnt much else you can do but push. If the flop in Rainbow I would be more inclined to bet half the pot on the flop and "Pot" the turn if he calls.
