I hope Parasol, Dikshit, and the rest of the Party Gaming crew have made large enough political contributions to both sides of the aisle.

I'm gonna be sick if this whole thing brings more light (and more politicians) to the status of internet-gambling legislation. I liked it better when no one really knew or cared about how much Party was raking in.

I think the amount of $$$ they are bringing in is going to make the US sit-up and attempt to get some of the pie for themselves.

i'm not really into buying shares and don't follow the market, but i'd be tempted to buy a few Party shares

what i don't understand is why Party isn't tempting its customers with the offer of some sort of preferential shares deal to give us continued interest in playing there and recommending it to others - generally fighting its corner in trying to make sure it remains a profitable investment

i hope this is round the corner, once the early details are settled - if the issue price of a share on day one on the open market is $1 i wouldn't hestitate to buy my 1000 shares maximum allocation, or whatever, for $950

i would think that in effect they even have the systems in place to hive off our money into the shares pot at the click of a button or two

I'd like to hear opinions on what the outcome would be for online poker if the US Gov't did infact rule it "legal" for American citizens.

I would think that the number of US players would increase only ever so slightly. Most "potential" players from the US are already playing online anyway.

If this hypothetical "legal" ruling allowed poker sites to be started up by US-based entities, then we may have something interesting. A nicely put together site (good software, etc.) with the right incentives (bonii, rake back, etc.) could take a nice chunk of market share away from the big sites. Especially if some type of regulation of the US-based sites were to occur.

Just my $0.02...

Right or wrong, I think online gaming is like the Prohibition era. People still drank alcohol and the US finally said OK.

If a US gambiling entity, say MGM Mirage or one of the other big boys (there are still other big boys, right?) were able to put up an online poker site based in the US that made claims such as "100% legal in the US" and "your money is completley protected by US law" I think you would get a lot more people playing online and I think Party would be dead in 6 months

That is a really, really smart idea. If I had a vested interest in Party, you better believe I'd keep my business there.
