Default Fort Myers/Port Charlotte/Tampa Bay Area Casino/Greyhound Play Areas?

My friends told me to avoid everything outside the derby and greyhound card rooms in flordia, due to no fold em hold em laws. Anyone have any recommendations? Im down for 1/2 no limit Cash, or 5-100 buck MTT SNG.

Good Lord, do they have poker in Port Charlotte now? When I left there, the only entertainment in town was the Charlotte Harbor beach and the eight-screen movie theater.

Oh, or you could go over to Old Punta Gorda and fish off the pier but one can only handle so much excitement.

You might check out the Fort Myers/Naples greyhound track that is actually in Bonita Springs. The games were very loose and high rake when I was there.

Thank you,

I played poker in Florida once. Hard rock Seminole in Tampa has $2 poker but runs quite a few tournaments.

derby Lane dog track has $2 poker and tournaments.

I played on the Ocean Jewel but the logistics of getting there and back are a challenge. I have heard some bad reports recently so I would do a little research before I planned a trip to the Ocean Jewel.

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa has these $100 + 20 SNGs, and they go up to a $1,000 SNG.

If you look for previous posts, there is a mention of a boat that has NL cash games out of the Tampa area, if I recall.

That would be the Ocean Jewel. It is in dry dock right now and there is no word on a date to resume service.
