You dial, the phone rings, someone picks up, oops, wrong number...
You realize your mistake when they say, "Hello?" Are you a douchebag who just hangs up or do you act like an adult and say something along the lines of, "I'm sorry, I think I dialed the wrong number..." Or is there an alternative?

'Sorry, I obviously dialed the wrong number...hope you enjoy your day/night/evening.'

I'd like a douchebag who just hangs up personally. I'm sick of wrong numbers, and the people at the other end demanding 'Who are you?' in a surly voice, like it's your fault.
smeg-heads. You of course explain yourself politely, and leave them alone ASAP. |

This would have been better as a poll, but:

the right play is to pretend they called you, adding even more confusion to their experience.

I like this one. I'll have to try it out next time.

I hang up, I don't care what they think of me and I certainly don't have a need to talk to them.
