1st Time B & M questions
The wife and I will be making our annual pilgimage to Vegas in July and have decided to make the leap from virtual poker to live. Although I'd probably not have a problem sitting down at a table and feeling my way through the process, I have spent much time lurking and learning here where she only plays for fun. She wants to go to one of the "beginner" poker lessons that one of the casino's like Luxor offers to get aquainted with real chips, figuring bets and so on. We both play micro limit and SnG's, hers at a slightly lower level than mine. We both have been playing on UB for over a year. Any help or suggestions from more experienced hands would be appreciated.

Re: 1st Time B & M questions
Excalibur is nearby, and has poker lessons at 2:00 every day I believe. Their $1-3 game might be the lowest stakes you find anywhere, and there is only one blind of $1 per hand. Though I never went to the Luxor, I have overwhelmingly heard, and experienced, the Excalibur to be extremely new-player friendly.
Then again, as an online player for a year, you will be light years ahead of most of the 1-3 folks there. I'd suggest a lesson at Excalibur, and a session there (remember this is spread limit), and after that I bet you'll feel confident enough to play at a slightly bigger table like the Alladdin 2/4. |
