I don't think it would be a huge advantage. Your seeing ~27 cards including the burn cards and the top card of the deck. So you'd know 1 extra card about half the time. It would make sense to mark a high card like the ace of spades for example as it's rare that you'll need to know if a deuce is in your opponents hand.
