Default Good pre-flop play...

Cloutier and McEvoy advocate very little pre-flop raising and very high standards of high selection in PLOH, while most Internet sources I've read are urge more agressive and marginally looser play...

Is it just an issue of style, or is one way of playing that much better than another?

Their book is directed to tournament play where protecting your chips and surviving are more important than maximizing EV.

Experts in cash games like to push every edge and are usually aggressive and play a lot of hands.

There is also little evidence to suggest either of them can play PLO a damn, certainly not as a cash game. Just cos its in a book, doesn't mean its right.
