Re: So, the St. Louis Cardinals will win
[ QUOTE ]
I thought this last year, and I will not make the same mistake twice. [/ QUOTE ] See, that was what my post was about. I was rooting for Houston last year and really got into the games, but it was rather obvious that they just didn't have enough to beat the Cards, especially without home field. I tried to warn El Diablo but he is a stubborn cuss - A loyal fan which is commendable, but one has to face reality. I think El Diablo lost close to 7 billion dollars betting on his team. -Zeno |

Your loyality and faith are commendable.
Are you betting on the games if the Astros and Cards play each other? -Zeno |

[ QUOTE ] San Diego has no chance whatsoever. [/ QUOTE ] Wow. This is so wrong. [/ QUOTE ] Is it really? They have lost more games than they have won. They are in one of the worst divisions in baseball, so they get to face terrible teams very often.. Other than Peavy and Giles, do they really have anyone? They will have to beat two of (St. Louis, Houston, Atlanta) and whoever comes out of the AL (a very good team). Good luck to a sub .500 team doing that. It's slightly annoying that in all likelihood, only one of Bosox and Yanks will make playoffs, but San Diego will be there. But that's baseball. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm talking about a 5 game series against the Cards, not the winning the World Series or even the NL pennant. I'd say SD is about a 3-1 underdog to beat St. Louis in a 5 game series. |

I thought you were saying to win the whole thing. Any team has a chance in a best of 5, I agree. Even San Diego vs. Cardinals. Also, Carpenter has pitched poorly recently, and I would guess he pitches Games 1 and 5? |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Ok - this is good, some smart analysis. -Zeno [/ QUOTE ] Just don't hitch your wagon to Houston again. You won't like these results any better than the last ones. [/ QUOTE ] If St. Louis and Houston face-off, Houston will win. [/ QUOTE ] Double or nothing on the drink you still owe me from last year's Cards vs. Stros victory? |
