Re: Set of 3s at NL400
I think if u called that turn you HAVE to call this river.
Maybe it was correct to fold the turn after his big raise. |

I think if u called that turn you HAVE to call this river. [/ QUOTE ] I had that feeling too. Because I didnt had the odds (inc. implied) to chase the full if he already had the straight. But got a strong feeling (as I said in another reply) he must have a hand better than 2 pair. The spade on the river didnt seem to scare him at all, not because he puts Me on a flush but with a worse hand than a 2 pair I think he checks down becuase the flush is a (little) potential hand of mine. |

I actually HAD odds with some margin (inc implied assuming he will pay me off when pushing a filled river) to chase the boat even if Im 100% sure that he has a straight. Because I have 10 outs (about 20% chance to hit) and it cost me $105 and I will win a pot containing $715. |

Re: Set of 3s at NL400
You are calling $105 to win $451 (assuming he will call with Straight when u fill the river)
Your share of the river don't count (it's YOUR money already). |

Correct, I still have the odds though if i Know he has the straight and pay me off. But not with as big margin.

Re: Set of 3s at NL400
It's not correct to fold on the turn. This isn't even debatable in my mind. Granted, checking the flop makes everything more complicated then it has to be, but I think I'm good here more often then not. Check raise all-in.

Re: Set of 3s at NL400
You played like a donk, no offense. I used to be a pussy with my sets too.
Never slowplay a set on a board like this (or in 99% of cases). Bet 80% of pot on the flop and this hand becomes super easy. As for turn, retarded not to re-raise all-in. River I don't know what to tell you, it's too screwed up by then. |

Re: Set of 3s at NL400
Don't ya just hate it. You count on MP to bet the flop he raised, and he doesn't come thru. So everyone gets a freebee, and damn, its 3 crds to a straight. To further confound one, you now also face a flush on the river, and the board didn't pair to give you a boat.
IMO, fold. I'd have folded on raise on the turn. |

Re: Set of 3s at NL400
Is this incorrect or is it best to just fold this turn to the raise?

Is this incorrect or is it best to just fold this turn to the raise? [/ QUOTE ] its incorrect if you are almost 100% sure he doesnt have a higher set and will pay of a push on the river. But it makes the river much easier to play of course because you dont have to play it... |
