it sucks.

So does your plan of folding TPTK heads up for one bet on the river closing the action when both the flop and turn were checked through.

No offense, of course.

Thanks.

I think I'm in the habit of giving my opponents too much credit recently, as a byproduct of running like [censored] this this month. I was trying to think of what range pays me off, rather than thinking of what range pays Chris off (AJ, KQ?) because Chris's hand looks fairly transparent.

I'm just gonna excerpt from my chat to try to be more eloquent with what I'm saying here:

[ QUOTE ]
[17:10] me: the main problem I had with chris's hand
[17:10] me: is I feel like he gets paid off by AJ and A9s
[17:11] me: and that other hands that might normally be payoff hands would have bet the turn
[17:11] me: like KT or KQ etc
[17:11] me: so I feel like his ability to be paid off by those hands is diminished by the turn action
[17:11] me: of course that narrows villain's range down quit ea bit
[17:12] me: to KJs, and maybe 99, AJ, A9s, and possibly another AK
[17:12] me: KJs/KJo
[17:15] me: so I was trying to figure out which of those hands pays off via check-call, which would checkraise and what our effective chances of being good are when we bet the river

[/ QUOTE ]

and we may get a hand like 88 to make an incorrect fold.

Wow, takes a tight player to fold a set for one bet in this spot

Default results for those who care

forgot all about thi hand...

i called the checkraise and he showed KJ.

fwiw, i think this is a v good line with KJ since he knows I will bet at this card. and if i don't bet at it that means he wouldn't have gotten any money out of this hand anyways becuase if i'm not betting that ace i'm sure as hell not calling it.

heres one:
say villian led this river, is my play call or raise?
