Hourly rate in online Omaha H/L
I've read more than once that a good Omaha H/L can expect to make more per hour than a good Limit Hold'em player. What would you expect a good Omaha H/L player to make playing online? Is 2BB/hr reasonable?

Yes if you're playing 1 table. If you're multi tabling you can get it up a lot higher than that.

Re: Hourly rate in online Omaha H/L
Online winrates are generally measured in BB/100 hands. This is much more accurate than measuring per hour for obvious reasons. With that said you get less hands per hour in Omaha8 so the winrate would have to be higher to equal holdem.
In any case the earn is probably similar for an expert in both. It is hard to compete with 50 hands per hour in Omaha8 to 90+ in a 4-sixmax game. Cheers |

Re: Hourly rate in online Omaha H/L
hourly rate is hard to compare between o8 and hold'em because they get dealt an unequal amount of hands per hour, but in terms of bb/100, i think witout a doubt an expert o8 will earn more per 100 hands than a hold'em player, because as andy b in the stud forum likes to say "finding a good omaha8 game is the closest you can get to printing money."

Re: Hourly rate in online Omaha H/L
What about Pot Limit? What would be a decent return in terms of BB/100? And how much table time do I need to decide whether or not I am getting anywhere - 100 hours or more like 1000?

Re: Hourly rate in online Omaha H/L
Mike Cap has an article about this on card player. I can't remember exactly what it said but it was something like if you only play A2's you should win 3BB/hr (in a typical good game). Go read all his articles and find it

Re: Hourly rate in online Omaha H/L
If there are less hands played, can i play with less than the standard 300 bb of my bankroll safely, or should i perhaps keep a bigger one due to variance?

Re: Hourly rate in online Omaha H/L
Less is fine and varience is lower (limit - PL has some big swings).
150-200 BB should be more than enough. |
