Re: Too weak with AA?
@ $5 they have to call 5 to get 14.5 ( just under 3:1 )
@ $7 they have to call 7 to get 16.5 ( just under 2.5:1 ) @ $10 they have to call 10 to get 19.5 ( just under 2:1 ) Why bet $7 or $10, what are you looking to learn/achieve w/ that bet? There is no flush draw, and only a very odd straight draw. Either bet creates a mistake in your favor unless the opponent already has you beat. Is the goal to chase out the guy that hit his AQ|KQ? Why would you want to chase him out? He would be calling to 5 or less outs. |

Re: Too weak with AA?
Given the way you played it, and the river card, this is an easy river check raise. Top pair calls here all the time.

Re: Too weak with AA?
Bet more on the flop than half the pot.
Call his minraise. Bet out on the turn (fairly strong say 60% of the pot). If he raises you whatsoever FOLD. He's got QQQ. Reading the hand it's clear you lost control and called down with NO CLUE as to what he's holding. I don't think he hit two pairs on that flop so I'm guessing trip queens. Keep control of your hands. Utilize the weak lead. Don't check/call down in this situation. Good luck. |

Re: Too weak with AA?
He tabled 67 of hearts.
I liked letting him bet because i didnt think he had too strong of a hand. But, i should have found at least one raise after the flop. thanks for comments, I play too many SnGs now... not in the NL style :P [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Kasey [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |

Re: Too weak with AA?
I bet $7 there because that's my standard continuation bet. I don't want them to able to tell the difference between Aces and unimproved AK. I'm not betting more to shut off their odds, I want money in the pot. If a player is calling my raise with AQ, do you really think he's folding for $7 cause he hit TPTK?
[ QUOTE ] Why bet $7 or $10, what are you looking to learn/achieve w/ that bet? [/ QUOTE ] I hate betting small here. When you bet small with a good, but not great hand, and get raised, you're left in the dark about your holdings. It's confusing because you don't know if they're raising because they have you beat or if they're raising because they think your bet is weakness. I don't like it. I rarely bet half the pot on the flop. [ QUOTE ] Either bet creates a mistake in your favor unless the opponent already has you beat. [/ QUOTE ] Getting more money into the pot from a guy drawing to 5 outs isn't a mistake. |
